What We Do Who We Work With About Contact Start a Conversation
Why Cobalt Exists

Built by people who've sat on both sides of the table.

Most owners looking at their capital structure end up talking to a broker who sees one instrument, or a consultant who hands over a recommendation and steps back. Cobalt exists because neither of those roles actually closes the gap between diagnosing a problem and fixing it.

We built Cobalt around a simple idea: analyze a business's actual capital structure first, qualify what genuinely fits, structure it properly, and then execute it, working directly with the banks, lenders, and counterparties involved rather than handing off a plan and hoping it happens. That's the whole model. It's why we call it capital execution, not consulting.

That approach only works if the people running it have actually sat inside a bank underwriting credit, inside institutional capital allocating it, and inside real transactions structuring them, not just consulting from the outside. That's the background Cobalt is built on.

The Experience

What working with us actually feels like.

One Point of Contact, Start to Finish

You work directly with the principals executing your deal. No hand-off to an intake team, no rotating analyst, no getting re-explained to a new person halfway through.

A Direct Answer, Even When It's No

If Cobalt isn't the right fit for your situation, you'll hear that early and plainly, not after being strung along through a sales process designed to keep you engaged.

Execution, Not Just a Recommendation

We stay engaged through closing, working directly with your bank and counterparties, not handing you a memo and stepping back to see what you do with it.

Who You'll Work With

The people executing your deal.

Curtis Hollowell, Managing Partner of Cobalt Commercial Credit

Curtis Hollowell

Managing Partner

Curtis began his career at U.S. Bank in business banking and commercial lending, then moved to Principal Financial Group, an institutional asset manager. He later co-founded a registered investment advisory firm built around business owner relationships and direct private equity investment. That path, bank credit, institutional asset management, and direct investing alongside business owners, gives him a view of the middle market from both sides: how credit gets underwritten, and how capital actually gets allocated and deployed at the ownership level.

Armen Grigorian, Managing Partner of Cobalt Commercial Credit

Armen Grigorian

Managing Partner

Armen has spent his career structuring and executing commercial credit, sale-leaseback, and real estate-backed financing for established operating businesses, while investing in and operating alongside those businesses through numerous private equity transactions. He also co-founded a registered investment advisory firm with Curtis, giving him direct experience on both the investment and operating sides of the businesses Cobalt works with. That background means he evaluates transactions from firsthand experience, not just analysis. The same execution experience that shapes the debt underwriting lens he applies to every credit product in a capital stack is the kind of capital that fuels revenue, profit, and equity value growth.
